A crack in your pool stairs can be fixed easily and inexpensively by pool owners, even if you don’t have the experience. You love to make lists so these are the steps to follow to fix your pool stairs.
Apply Surface Primer and Bonding Filler
Apply surface primer to cracks and allow it to dry. After the primer has dried, apply a good amount of bonding glue to the putty knife. This is usually found in the repair kit. Use pressure to apply the filler from one side of the crack towards the other, overlapping the sides. You must keep smoothing each pass. Before moving on to the next step, you must allow the filler to dry completely.
Smooth the Crack to Get a Even Surface
Sandpaper can be used to cover the crack. To create a fluid texture, apply as much pressure as necessary. To remove dust, use a damp cloth and a damp towel. Let the filler dry completely before smoothing it using sandpaper.
Administer Epoxy
The back of your box will contain instructions for how to apply the Epoxy that you have purchased. These instructions will show you how to apply the Epoxy and what you should add. To remove any imperfections, sand the Epoxy after you have applied a good layer of gel coat.
Polish and Repair
This is the final round of cleaning. Make sure to clean the pool stairs including the cracked. Some stairs do not need to be repainted.
